Yeah, but you don't always get the +1 - just if the guy you want to hit happened to have just hit you. Which will happen often, but unlike flanking, you can't control it. So I'd say flanking is actually easier to make happen, especially since it's pretty crucial to combat tactics. The damage bonus is also bigger, especially since to be flanking, you need at least one ally adjacent to the target already.

Well, remember the Breakfast Crunch (tm) guarantee:\"As balanced and tested as anything written while eating a bowl of cereal in the morning can be.\" My basic logic for Howl was, the default is \"Once per encounter, gain +1\". So if I just said \"You gain +3 when flanking, instead of +2\", it would be less potent -- you\'d get the same bonus, in effect, but need to be positioned. So you get +2 instead of +1, but you have to work just a smidgen harder, and the time when you most want the bonus might not be the time you can get it.

Howl of the Pack looks a little strong, since flanking is hardly a rare situation. Other than that, they all look great. It pisses me off that background fluff for tieflings is in the core books. I\'m of the (somewhat rare) opinion that core books should be rules and nothing else - put your fluff in the world books where it belongs, so I can use mine without having to argue with my players. I, too, really like the tieflings but think the reason given for their existence is one of the most boring ones possible.
